Martin Luther Tower (MLT) is a 121 unit, 13 story apartment building, located at 1001 Franklin Street that provides affordable, independent living for seniors.
MLT was built in the 1960s as a response to the challenge of urban redevelopment and as a ministry to senior citizens in the Cathedral Hill community. Today, St. Mark's continues to fulfill its commitment to affordable housing and its ministry to seniors in the community. St. Mark's outreach to seniors is seen in the form of activities, pastoral care, and corporate oversight of MLT. Other services provided for MLT residents include an onsite social worker; a weekly study led by St. Mark's clergy; laundry facilities; a small computer lab; a lounge stocked with DVDs and games; monthly luncheons and field trips; informational seminars; a weekly movement class; and a guest suite.
