Operations Manager Cedric Cartajena and his team of eighty security professionals are experienced at orchestrating intricate security operations for sets filmed at locations ranging from military bases with stringent security control and access restrictions, like Pearl Harbor, to locations requiring a round-the-clock perimeter watch, like the sets of the special effects-heavy Godzilla remake.
According to Jenkins, the nature of the work requires security staff to be prepared to adapt swiftly to changes of scenery and environment. “Producers often need to switch locations at a moment’s notice. Recently, we were asked to help clear and shut down the entire downtown area of Waikiki. We executed the task as quickly as possible so that the production team could wrap the scenes, and tourists could get back to enjoying one of the busiest attractions in Hawaii.”
