Angie Stone To Headline "A Mind Is..." Gala in Chicago
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 21, 2016 -- UNCF’s Chicago Area Office will host its annual “A Mind Is . . .” Gala on Saturday, June 25, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Emceed by Terrell Brown, morning anchor at ABC 7 Eyewitness News, the event brings together more than 400 business, civic and education leaders in support of UNCF’s work in providing Chicago students the resources to get to and through college. Dr. Michael L. Lomax, UNCF’s president and CEO, will also attend.
Three-time Grammy®-nominated recording artist Angie Stone will provide entertainment for this signature fundraising event. She is known for hits such as “No More Rain (in this Cloud),” “Brotha” and “Wish I Didn’t Miss You,” the legendary R&B songstress has a career that spans decades.

The event will be chaired by Tyronne Stoudemire, Vice President of Global Diversity and Inclusion for Hyatt Corp. David Casper, President and CEO of BMO Harris Bank, will receive the Harold H. Hines, Jr. Benefactor’s Award. The “A Mind Is” Award for dedication to and support of UNCF’s work will be given to Deirdre C. Drake, Senior Vice President, U.S. Cellular; Gary and Denise Gardner of the Gary and Denise Gardner Family Foundation; Quintin E. Primo, III, CEO of Capri Investment Group; and Diane Primo, Founder and Chairman, Intralink Global. This year’s sponsors include BMO Harris Bank, Hyatt Corp. and ITW.
