Announcement: BluesGuitar.com Releases “Blues Lead Playing With Pentatonic Scales - Blues Guitar Lesson - Part 1”
(PRWEB) April 26, 2014 -- “If we’re talking about lead playing and soloing over the blues, one of the things you have to know is your pentatonic scale”, says MacLennan, “this video is going to get you started”. Jon starts off in the key of A minor by demonstrating a Am chord voicing by baring his first finger across the 5th fret of the 4th, 3rd and 2nd strings and using his thumb to fret the 6th string, which he says gives him a good position to shape the scale he is using off of. Jon demonstrates the scale pattern as follows; 5th fret of the 6th string with first finger, 8th fret of the 6th string with 4th finger, 5th fret of the 5th string with first finger and 7th fret of the 5th string with 3rd finger, Jon using this sequence for the 4th and 3rd strings and then back to the first sequence for the 2nd and first strings. “You can practice this ascending and descending”, says MacLennan, “you want to get each note as clean as you can”. Guitar TAB’s are available for this easy beginner blues guitar lesson at BluesGuitar.com.
