Renaissance Artist Collective Offers Artists, Creators, Communicators and Disruptors a Voice
CHICAGO, Nov. 11, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Announcing the launch of The Renaissance Artist Collective, an experiential media house offering artists, creators, communicators and disruptors an opportunity to share stories, spread advocacy and present news that supports the creative community. Launching their editorial calendar via website, LinkedIn, and through email newsletter beginning November, 15th, this content will be aspirational, educational, intellectual and storytelling minded.
Hoping to liberate the starving artist mindset the new webizine and experiential media house will have a vivacious, energetic mood that will be alive, full of colorful language, graphics and themes. Their content will make space for creative journeys, personal artists features, art and show openings, thought leadership, journalism and review.
"I have always taken issue with the phrase 'starving artist' when I heard it." shares co-founder and Editorial Director Anna Marie Imbordino. "Why are artists starving? Where are their voices? I watched creatives struggle to believe their work mattered and had value. I noticed the cultural disdain for art as a profession even from an early age. We have to give artists a voice and space to not just share, but promote and monetize. We needed a space that could allow these conversations from all perspectives. And most importantly, we needed to make space for all artists at every level."
Taking their inspiration from history, co-founders Melissa Noto and Anna Marie Imbordino saw an opportunity to be the patrons of this change. From the 14th century to the 17th century, the Renaissance promoted the rediscovery of classical philosophy, literature and art. The emergence of the concept of humanism, blended with artistic and technological innovations and the impacts of social changes and ongoing plague highlighted the start of the Renaissance period. Similar to our current world environment, these co-founders noticed a readiness for change that was perfect for the launch of their new collective.
"Everyone is talented in their own way," explains co-founder and Creative Director Melissa Noto. "As a graphic designer I see design (art) in every lobby, every business, and down every graffiti alley. Art comes in many forms and to each his own. Art is a way of expression. Some of the time and thought that is put into the piece you are admiring is why people should pay for art like they would that sweater that they have to have and hope our work with the collective can support artists better."
Co-founders Noto and Imbordino see their extensive backgrounds in art, media and content marketing as the quintessential success formula. They see their expertise in content development as their biggest advantage in launching this experiential news outlet.
"My time in public relations and journalism helped me appreciate the importance of telling your story. When I would pitch clients for coverage, I was horrified to find that coverage for the arts was minimal and outlets few and far between. I also noticed a higher amount of monetized content in these spaces making coverage for emerging artists cost-prohibitive. Major outlets left this coverage in the corners and back pages. I could feel the void and wondered, could we create something to fill it?"
The Renaissance Artist Collective aspires to be approachable, entertaining and easy to digest, while still being timely and thoughtfully curated. Through its multi-platform approach, the collective hopes to offer convenient opportunities for creatives to digest, share and celebrate artists worldwide.
