Announcing the First Annual Community Event for Apache Accumulo

The event will be held on June 12th of 2014 in Greenbelt, Maryland. The Accumulo Summit 2014 is the first edition of the annual event that will serve as the focal meeting point for the Apache Accumulo™ community. This event will be a one-day conference bringing together hundreds of key industry and government professionals for a day of interactive Accumulo discourse and educational sessions.

Accumulo, originally developed at the National Security Agency, is a high performance NoSQL database with cell-level security controls. After being open sourced in late 2011, Accumulo became a top-level project at the Apache Foundation in the spring of 2012 and is currently being used throughout the Federal Government and by various private sector companies.
Organized by members of the Apache Accumulo community and co-hosted by Sqrrl and ClearEdge, the conference will consist of one general session and two breakout tracks to accommodate attendees of different levels of experience. Prior to the start of the Accumulo Summit, ClearEdge Solutions will offer Apache Accumulo training sessions on June 10th and 11th. Following the conference on June 13th, Booz Allen Hamilton will host an Accumulo Hackathon that will enable individuals to get hands on experience with building applications for Accumulo.
