This new firm will continue to provide interior design services to the Chicago area, but expand its reach globally through the online delivery of quality interior design through her website at MyDesignerOnline.com.
Maura Braun founded Braun Design, Ltd. in 1994 as a traditional interior design firm, providing high-end architectural, interior design and project management services to an upscale clientele in the Chicago Metropolitan area. However, Ms. Braun believed that enhancing the interior environment would improve people’s spirit, which would promote productivity and growth, and dreamed of offering her services to a wider market. She wanted to help people realize beautiful spaces – even those who did not have access or could not afford the high cost of a full-service designer.
In 2007, she realized that the Internet could be her way of interacting with wider audience. In 2012 she made that dream a reality with the launch of her website-based design company, MyDesignerOnline.com. This new concept for interior design projects offers an efficient and cost-effective way for clients to work with an interior designer. The website presents viewers with a questionnaire, asking them for the details and photos of their present spaces. Based on those details and further contact, via telephone, email or Skype, a design plan is developed and presented on a private web page. The entire plan, including material suggestions, pricing and step-by-step instructions for the implementation of the plan, is also presented in book form. One of the best features of the service is that clients can choose the D.I.Y. option, completing the project themselves, or choose the Designer Level of Service with personal access to the interior designer.
Ms. Braun will continue to offer on-site interior design services to residents of the Chicago Metropolitan area, but feels that her new online design service will help her reach even more people, who appreciate good design but have limited access to an on-site designer.
