MIAMI, Sept. 30, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Antigal Winery & Estates has earned https://www.linkedin.com/company/letis-s.a./about/ LETIS* certification from Bodegas de Argentina for its sustainable vineyards and winemaking practices and today announces its participation in the Sustainability Protocol, a 3-year sustainability and climate action plan designed to position the company for resilience in the face of changing social and environmental landscapes. The family-owned winery is known for its fine wine portfolio with several tiers that express the essence of Mendoza terroir and has released its first Malbec made with Organic Grapes across US markets.
The goals and initiatives support the Cartoni family's long-term vision for a sustainable future and its growing reputation as a progressive Argentinean leader in economic, environmental and socially responsible business practices.
The Sustainability Protocol consist of 14 areas that address a range of topics from vineyard management, wine quality, human resource issues, waste management, hazardous materials and efficient use of energy and water. Antigal Winery & Estates has retained an accredited certifier to perform an annual audit to establish baseline data.
"We aim to widely exceed the sustainability requirements in each area of the Protocol and have adopted a 3-year plan with specific goals and ongoing internal audits performed by an independent certifier each year, "says Alessandra Cartoni, CEO. "Our goal is to show sustainable progress and improvements as we further develop a culture of sustainability inside the winery and with our employees. Today's consumers increasingly demand sustainable products, and our job is to think about the future and the management of resources, especially non-renewable ones," she continued.
"Since 2015 we have earned food quality, vegan, and organic certifications. We recognize that sustainability is the foundation of our growth, and we are making further investments to align our decisions about water management, energy resources (generating clean energy, self-supply, solar energy) and land conservation through regenerative farming practices and social responsibility to advance diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace and wine community. Sustainability has always been important in our decision-making processes, and we strive to do more to lower our carbon footprint, reduce waste, recycle, and reuse as much as we can, "Cartoni continued.
"We also look to collaborate with our suppliers, generating sustainable purchases so that we can create a sustainable culture at a global level. Our philosophy has always been to produce premium wines and be a good steward of the environment," says Cartoni.
ABOUT ANTIGAL WINERY & ESTATES
Antigal Winery & Estates is a family-owned vineyard-based company and one of the oldest wineries in Argentina. Founded in 1897, in the first wine-growing area of Mendoza at the Andes foothills, its estate mountain vineyards drive balanced flavor development and livelier, more intense wines. With high altitude vineyards and poor, rocky soils, the grape vines work harder and produce more complex flavors that enhance the best expression of the fruit. Antigal's fine wine portfolio has earned a reputation worldwide for the quality of its wines that express the essence of Mendoza's terroir. Its unique packaging includes a distinctive number 1 hand-carved from a barrel stave. Antigal's signature UNO wines celebrate inspiration and connecting with others. Vineyard ownership and sustainable practices remain key to consistent quality and artisan winemaking underscores a faithful commitment to making wines of character and integrity.
Antigal wines are imported by Cork Alliance, Miami Florida.
