AP Tops Out Broomfield's Community Center Reconstruction Project

BROOMFIELD, Colo., Sept. 5, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Under clear skies, Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) and the City and County of Broomfield topped out the Broomfield Community Center Reconstruction project—a large facility that will replace the city's old community center and senior center with a striking new facility.

The 96,088-sf project, designed by Davis Partnership Architects, will feature two basketball/volleyball courts in the wood floored gymnasium with an elevated running track above. Locker rooms, family cabanas, a weight room, a child watch area, pre-school and an outdoor play area will also be included.

The two new natatoriums will immensely upgrade programming from the former facility's one pool and a hot tub, replacing them with a warm pool, a competition cold pool including balcony viewing bleachers, a hot tub and a therapy pool. The building will feature three fitness studios, classrooms and administrative spaces, a wood workshop for carpentry classes, art and kiln space, classrooms, a commercial kitchen for cooking classes, and conference rooms for weddings and meetings. This preserves the community's well-known areas and services within the senior center, such as their Meals-on-Wheels support.

The project is slated to open in Summer 2020.
