ROSWELL, Ga., April 22, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Apex HCM, a leader in payroll and human capital management technology, today announced its tool set to assist Payroll Service Bureaus respond to the COVID-19 legislative changes and navigate this new landscape. Apex HCM is committed to assisting our payroll service bureaus and the businesses they pay with increased compliance support resulting from rapidly evolving legislation. Our goal is to help minimize our payroll service bureaus administrative burden across the payroll / HCM spectrum of workforce-related services, so that our payroll service bureaus can focus on supporting their end clients.
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) were passed by Congress and signed into law on March 18, 2020 and on March 27, 2020 respectively. FFRCA requires employers with less than 500 employees to provide a certain amount of paid sick and paid leave to employees affected by COVID-19 and provides affected employers with a corresponding employment tax credit. In addition, the FFRCA temporarily expands Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requirements to offer protected leave related to the coronavirus. The CARES Act is a ~$3.5 trillion stimulus package that provides relief options due to the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent economic downturn. Some of the tools Apex has put together to support their payroll service bureaus through this pandemic:
- New Custom Earning Codes for COVID Sick Pay and FMLA leave
- Video demonstrating the new Earning Codes and Accruals
- New Payroll Report for Paycheck Protection Program Loan applications
- Video showing how to generate report for Payroll Protection Program
- Webinar about the Payroll Protection Program
- Directions on additional calculation methods for Payroll Protection Program report
Robert Digby, CEO, Apex HCM, commented, "Apex is supporting our payroll service bureaus and the business that they pay during this unprecedented event by giving them several less things to worry about with the ever-evolving legislative environment". Digby further commented that "our ability to automate the administrative burden and provide submission ready documents for business loan applications is just one of the many areas Apex HCM is helping our payroll service bureaus navigate."
