Appnovation Technologies Helping World Trade Organization Adopt Open Source
London, United Kingdom (PRWEB) July 11, 2013 -- Appnovation Technologies is excited to announce that they will be assisting the World Trade Organization (WTO) in their initiative to adopt open source technology. Appnovation has been contracted by the international organization to design and develop the website for the Standards and Trade Development Facility (STDF) using the Drupal content management system.

The WTO is the only global international organization dealing with the rules of trade between nations. The STDF is a global partnership between the WTO and other international organizations and supports developing countries in building their capacity to implement international food safety, animal and plant health (sanitary and phytosanitary, or SPS) standards, guidelines and recommendations as a means to improve their health status and ability to gain or maintain access to markets. The STDF site is strategically important to the WTO and provides programme guidelines, information on ongoing projects and grant guidelines and opportunities.
Appnovation will be redesigning and developing a new website for the STDF, its related virtual library and combining them both into a single Drupal website instance. This will be the first large scale Drupal project for the WTO driven by a mandate to adopt open source due to its scalability, cost effectiveness and ease of use.
