A new modern, off-campus student housing community is coming to the University of Alabama Birmingham. Aptitude Development, a New Jersey student housing development firm, broke ground on The Marshall Birmingham at the end of October and will bring 409 beds throughout 200,000 Sq. Ft. to the Birmingham area.
Within walking distance of the University of Alabama Birmingham campus, The Marshall Birmingham is located at 1201 3rd Ave. South on the corner of 13th Street and 3rd Avenue South. The community will be a seven-story building and will boast 10,000 square-feet of amenity space including state-of-the-art fitness facilities, resident lounges, breakout areas, open-air social space, courtyards, and a pool with campus views and more.

The Marshall Birmingham will help supplement the immense demand for more student housing for the University of Alabama Birmingham that has had a 30 percent enrollment surge for the past decade.

Aptitude Development has partnered with Stone Construction, BSB Design and CHA Engineering on this project. This is the fourth Marshall branded community that Aptitude Development has in the works. The other Marshall communities include The Marshall Syracuse in New York, The Marshall Louisville in Kentucky and The Marshall Arkansas in Fayetteville.
