Expanding on Polygon Labs's current campaign, the #PolygonGameOn(ramp) powered by AQUA looks to solve developer pain points with real product solutions
NEW YORK, March 9, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Polygon Labs and AQUA jointly revealed their strategic collaboration in service of developers building web3 games, bundling technology solutions from both companies into one seamless program. Highlights of the bundled offering includes AQUA's recently announced Embedded Marketplace solution, which allows players to transact in secondary NFT sales entirely within a game's client or hub; a first for web3 gaming. In addition to a joint solution stack, AQUA, and Polygon Labs highlight this partnership will also entail supporting the broader Polygon gaming ecosystem on the AQUA.xyz marketplace starting this month, adding 15 games currently on the Polygon network by end of the year.
"We forge strategic alliances with those who share our focus on the player experience and commitment to developer success," said Urvit Goel, Global Head of Business Development at Polygon Labs "Creating solutions for developers entering the web3 gaming ecosystem that truly solve their pain points is the first step toward a more vibrant offering for players, and partnering with a games-focused platform like AQUA was a no-brainer for us."
"Polygon Labs brings a scalable blockchain offering to the ecosystem and we're thrilled to solidify this deeper relationship," said Sean Ryan, CEO of AQUA.xyz and gaming industry veteran of 20 years, with prior stints at Meta, SEGA, and various other mobile-gaming ventures. "Both of our organizations identified the need to reduce friction for game developers and their communities to ramp onto web3, and together we aim to solve those pain points, from making it easier for players to benefit from NFT-based game assets to expanding game economies and improving monetization with marketplaces, which lets developers do what they do best - make great games."
This new bundled offering which looks to ease developer woes has already secured participation from games like action RPG Dark Throne and auto chess battler Mojo Melee. Million on Mars, a terraforming game set on Mars, is another of the titles coming to Polygon Labs and AQUA. "I've been building games to take advantage of new technology waves for the past 20 years, from social to mobile, and now with web3," said Erik Bethke, CEO and co-founder of Million on Mars. "We had thought about trying to build our own in-game marketplace for the same reasons AQUA is offering their solution: to help drive engagement and monetization. But to do it on our own would have been a major investment of our development resources. We really like their approach and think it's just what the industry needs to accelerate the adoption of web3 gaming."
As the web3 gaming industry continues to grow, Polygon Labs and AQUA have stated their intentions to expand this strategic partnership further, joining services where needed to drive mass adoption of web3 gaming. Kicking off a series of initiatives, both parties will host a joint panel at the 2023 Game Developers Conference taking place later this month in San Francisco, featuring AQUA.xyz CEO, Sean Ryan, and others as they discuss broad topics across the web3 gaming ecosystem.
