New National Partnership Promises Continued Growth

Arrow has tripled in size in just four years, and the creation of our new national partnership promises continued expansion of our size, strength and capabilities.

Arrow Benefits Group, the third largest benefits firm in the North Bay, announces a series of expansions and status as a founding agency in a new national brokerage. Says Stephen McNeil, Managing Partner, “Arrow has tripled in size in just four years, and the creation of our new national partnership promises continued expansion of our size, strength and capabilities. It also allows us to deepen our already substantial commitment to our North Bay communities.” The expansion includes a merger with Scarborough Insurance of San Francisco and the addition of their principals Fred Naranjo, Kathleen Lemke and Barb Hendricks to the Arrow team. Arrow has also acquired four well-established independent agencies:

  • Advanced Benefits of Santa Rosa, Til West, Principal
  • Mission Benefits of Sunnyvale, Matthew Sohn, Principal
  • Copeland Insurance of San Rafael, Bob Copeland, Principal
  • Ahern Insurance of Novato, Michael Ahern, Principal

Bringing on these quality and respected agencies furthers Arrow’s footprint and mission. This growth in business and staff also aids the expansion of Alianza, Arrow’s Spanish Language Division. Alianza Director Rosario Avila says she is pleased with the growth in team and services dedicated to better serve existing and future clients.

While expanding regionally, Arrow is also a founding agency of a new national brokerage, Patriot Growth Insurance Services, Inc. (PGIS). With 17 other firms, PGIS will launch with approximately $52 million of annual revenue, ranking it in the top-60 privately held agencies in the United States, and in the top-20 privately held Employee Benefits agencies. Arrow will be in the top-10 in California agencies in Employee Benefits. PGIS has immediate plans to expand its presence in benefits, property and casualty, administration and wealth management. The new entity is poised for expansion and has already added firms to the fold since its founding.

PGIS, as part of its creation, expanded its market reach by purchasing TRUE Network Advisors (TRUE), an alliance of professional benefit firms with offices in over 25 cities. Arrow believes the purchase of TRUE “provides a passionate dedication to employee benefits, with a greater ability to provide a series of innovative services and vendor partnerships that will help our clients offer benefits on a more comprehensive scale with greater efficiency and degree of dedication,” said Senior Partner Jordan Shields. TRUE has numerous strategic partners around the nation who bring important and considerable expertise at preferred rates to all TRUE members and their clients (see http://www.truenetworkadvisors.com).

Senior Partner Keith McNeil says, “two years in the making, the creation of Patriot Growth Insurance Services and its purchase of TRUE Network Advisors is a crowning achievement of Arrow’s long-term goal to create a major market footprint and deliver greater value to our clients and community.”

The acquisitions and creation of PGIS expands Arrow’s existing products, tools and services, which include:
Human Resources (strategic partnership with The Personnel Perspective and Managing Partner Karen Alary)
Plan Administration (purchase of Shirrell Consulting Services and subsequent expansion)
Alternative Funding (creation of Self Insurance Expert)
