Arts Conference Explores Growth, Success of Arkansas's Creative Economy
The Arkansas Arts Council will present ArtLinks 2019: Live.Work.Art., Arkansas's premier statewide arts conference, during a three-day event, Oct. 6-8, in downtown Fayetteville, Arkansas. The conference will spotlight individual artists, art trends and the creative economy.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark., Sept. 17, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ArtLinks 2019: Live.Work.Art., Arkansas's premier statewide arts conference, will spotlight individual artists, art trends and the creative economy during a three-day event Oct. 6-8 in downtown Fayetteville, Arkansas.
"The arts are a vital component of Arkansas's economy, collective identity and cultural heritage," said Stacy Hurst, secretary of the Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism. "Our statewide arts conference, ArtLinks, will show how collaboration among artists, governments, nonprofits, civic and business leaders will enhance the quality of life of all Arkansans, attract more jobs and tourism to our state and boost our overall economy."
Nationally renowned speakers will discuss how to create affordable living and work spaces for artists, revive rural economies and attract more tourism through the arts. Speakers from across Arkansas will talk about ways the arts are being used to preserve community identity and attract and keep residents.
"ArtLinks is a great opportunity to learn how to use the arts to boost local, regional and statewide economies; how individual artists are impacting our state; and what initiatives are underway to support the growth of the arts in Arkansas," said Patrick Ralston, director of the Arkansas Arts Council.
ArtLinks includes a reception to honor recipients of the Individual Artist Fellowship awards and a town hall meeting to learn best ways to advocate for the arts.
