Mom created a reading game for her son and is now making it available for all children learning to read.
WASHINGTON, June 12, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Featured in a recent Good Morning America cover story, Jacquelyn Davis, Founder and CEO of Clever Noodle, the maker of fun and effective learn-to-read games will mark the company's trade show debut at Astra Marketplace & Academy (Booth #115) in Columbus Ohio on June 12-14, 2023.
The company just completed a successful crowdfunding campaign to fund the manufacturing of its first learn-to-read game, Kangaroo Cravings. The popular morning news show Good Morning America featured Davis and her son, Madden's, story - catapulting the young start-up company to a large, national consumer audience of energized parents, caregivers, and educators - all clearly hungry for a proven game-based tool to help young readers. Over 7,000 teachers and parents have purchased the game, along with a handful of school districts.
"From the moment our story aired, our online store literally blew up with orders, while we were still in pre-order mode! We had to quickly transition to a fully functional e-commerce retail store," according to Davis. "I am very proud of our small team for all that we've accomplished under intense pressure and expectations. Knowing how valuable and fun our game is for children learning to read has been the motivation for our team to get our first game, Kangaroo Cravings, to market as quickly as possible and begin developing a suite of additional reading games to support children's learning," stated Davis.
The games are designed to be played at home or in the classroom. Ongoing feedback has been essential to the product development process. According to Deena Schwartz, a teacher in Florida, "We have used kangaroo cravings the last few weeks in the reading resource room and the game has been a big success! Students are moving, laughing and learning all positive activities! I love the variety of actions the game has to act out the words. We have done several during the school year but much more fun when involved in a game. A student favorite is tail write and my favorite has been watching all the smiles while we learn."
The woman-founded, women-led small company successfully navigated the growing pains of scale, overseas manufacturing and fulfillment while building a company from the ground up. As a result of their efforts they are about to deliver the first round of games to homes and classrooms nationwide. Their appearance at a premier children's retailer trade show represents the first time a national audience of retail buyers will see the company's first learn-to-read game, Kangaroo Cravings as well as preview the next product, a 100 Noun Expansion Pack and Travel Deck. Additionally they will reveal their next stage reading game designed for older learners grades 3-5, called Go Go Grafiti, designed by noted graffiti artist, Matthew Curry.
Kangaroo Cravings is garnering accolades, just this week winning the coveted Mom's Choice Awards. "We are happy to award deserving products like Kangaroo Cravings," said Dawn Matheson, CEO, Mom's Choice Awards. "Our panel of judges really felt this learn-to-read game merited a place on our list of the best in family-friendly products that parents and educators can feel confident in using."
