New Growth Innovation Network (NGIN) Launches Guide to Elevating Equity in Economic Development
WASHINGTON, May 10, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Leadership from the New Growth Innovation Network (NGIN) today released a capstone report as part of its Inclusive Recovery Initiative, a national program supported by the U.S. Economic Development Administration and delivered in partnership with the National Association of Development Organizations Research Foundation (NADO RF). The initiative aims to support Economic Development Organizations and Districts in embedding inclusive and equitable growth into their COVID-19 recovery strategies and in the development of regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies (CEDS).

The Inclusive Recovery Toolkit is action-oriented and evidence-based. It provides a roadmap to ensure sustained efforts towards shared prosperity. A Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy that explicitly focuses on equity will advance economic growth and long-term American competitiveness. The network of nearly one hundred EDDs and EDOs engaged in the initiative's community of practice provided invaluable insights alongside NADO and NGIN.

Elevating Equity in Economic Development: An Inclusive Recovery Toolkit, is presented as both an online interactive toolkit and in-depth downloadable guide. It features Diversity, Equity and Inclusion modules with illustrative best practices and recommendations to get started. The 85 page guide includes resources tailored for Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies and serves as a reference when planning for inclusive economic growth.
