ASLA Selects Las Vegas Injury Attorneys Henness and Haight as Top 100 Lawyers
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) February 13, 2015 -- Mark Henness and Michael Haight, of Henness and Haight Injury Attorneys in Las Vegas, have both been selected by the American Society of Legal Advocates as part of the Top 100 Litigation Lawyers in Nevada. ASLA is incredibly selective in choosing who to include in the top 100 lawyers for each state. Only 1.5% of all licensed lawyers nationwide are granted this exclusive membership.
Michael and Mark were both honored to be selected. Mark expressed, “It's an honor to join such an esteemed group of lawyers around the country. I take pride in our client-centric approach to litigation, and am pleased to see it has made an impression on ASLA.”. Michael agreed, adding, “Although I don't help people in order to get recognition, but instead because I get true satisfaction in doing what I do, it's really gratifying when it comes.”
To be selected as a member of the American Society of Legal Advocates, a lawyer is either evaluated based on publicly-available information, or nominated by a fellow lawyer or past client. To ensure that ASLA remains honest and includes only the most elite lawyers, they disallow any self-nominations, or nominations made by public relations firms or advertising agencies.
According to ASLA, when selecting lawyers to join their organization, they look for “...lawyers who combine stellar legal credentials with a proven commitment to community engagement and the highest professional standards.”. Over the past years, Mark Henness and Michael Haight have garnished a reputation in Las Vegas not only for helping in a legal capacity, but also for giving back to the community through various charitable efforts. This surely has contributed to their inclusion in ASLA.
The manual selection process is notoriously rigorous and thorough, consisting of multiple stages of review. First, ASLA's lawyers review any available information on each candidate, which may include client assessments, verdicts, settlement information and more. According to ASLA, the candidates are then assessed on the following criteria, “...educational accomplishments, involvement and leadership in bar associations and professional organizations, activities within their community, and demonstrated legal achievement”.
Once an initial list of nominees has been prepared, another group of lawyers reviews the findings and decides if they meet the standards of the organization. None of the lawyers from the first phase of the selection process are used in this phase. This removes any potential biases and ensures the integrity of the process.
In the final phase, the list of nominees is further refined into a list of finalists who are either confirmed or placed on a list for reconsideration the following year. Once the candidate accepts the membership invitation they are added to the American Society of Legal Advocate's website and gain exclusive access to the organization.
ASLA continues to refine its list of lawyers to ensure it represents the most prestigious lawyers in the country. All members are expected to comply with their respective state bars, and any member who is disciplined by the bar has their membership revoked.
In addition to supporting their current members, ASLA supports the legal community by routinely donating to non-profit legal organizations and events, and welcomes members’ donation recommendations.
