On April 24th, 2018 Parker Hannifin Corporation officially became the Founding Client Member of ASM’s Materials Solutions Network, a new business that was formally launched at ASM’s ITSC (International Thermal Spray Conference & Exposition) and AeroMat conferences on May 7, 2018. Parker Hannifin has partnered with ASM to utilize the vast network of materials knowledge that resides in the ASM members and companies the members serve.
Paul Susalla, Parker’s Corporate Manufacturing Technology Advancement Director, states, “We are pleased to be part of the Materials Solutions Network, building on our strong relationship with ASM International.”
The increasing pace of materials technology development, coupled with declining availability of materials expertise, is causing an ever-developing challenge. To address this challenge, the Materials Solutions Network serves as an extension of a company’s R&D capacity by leveraging ASM member organizations to provide collaborative and scalable solutions.

Parker Hannifin has engaged with ASM’s Materials Solutions Network to solve needs specifically driven by their Advanced Manufacturing Learning & Development Center (AMLDC). Current projects underway relate to applying rapidly growing Additive Manufacturing technologies and augment other materials support across all of Parker.
Robert Pelletier, Engineering Manager for Parker’s AMLDC notes, “Material science is foundational for new process and product development, and our enhanced partnership with ASM will improve such activity.”
