“The Aspire Albany IoT Technology Demonstration Center will illustrate the integration of technologies that can help improve quality of life, safety, and efficiency for regional municipalities, college and university campuses, high school campuses, connected roadways and smart buildings,” says John C. Harris, Aspire President & CEO. “We are proud to partner with Capital Region BOCES to provide a regional training and development center for public/private partnership and workforce development.”
The new Aspire Albany IoT Technology Demonstration Center is an expansion of the successful Aspire IoT Demo Center in Eatontown, N.J. Both centers provide working examples of the latest technologies available for implementing automated, intelligent and highly secure networks and mobility solutions to ensure reliable communications and easy access to key business applications.
Training & Workforce Development
The Aspire Albany IoT Technology Demonstration Center has been developed with Aspire’s partners at Capital Region BOCES to provide training and workforce development capabilities for the regional adult workforce looking for hands-on training to update employable skills. Aspire plans to offer a variety of training tracks for continuing education and workforce development efforts in collaboration with Capital Region BOCES.
Once trained, students could enter either private sector employment, for example the organizations that deploy IoT solutions, or public sector employment, for example the municipalities that own and operate these IoT solutions for community and constituent utility and safety.
“This partnership will help equip young people and adults with the education and training they need to meet the workforce needs of today and tomorrow,” said Capital Region BOCES Senior Executive Officer Joseph P. Dragone, Ph.D.
