ASQ Names 24 Fellows for Contributions to Quality
Milwaukee, Wis. (PRWEB) March 24, 2016 -- Twenty-four ASQ members have completed the rigorous process to be named ASQ Fellows for contributing to the advancement of quality. The new Fellows will be recognized at ASQ’s World Conference on Quality and Improvement in May.
ASQ Fellows represent diverse industries on a global scale. The 2016 Fellows come from companies and organizations such as Honeywell, Cigna, Whirlpool and Google. ASQ currently has nearly 650 active Fellows.
“ASQ Fellows are leaders in the quality community who are dedicated to making their organizations and communities better for the world around them,” said ASQ Chair Pat La Londe. “They have worked tirelessly to improve quality and sustain the quality movement – enhancing the world around them.”
According to ASQ bylaws, Fellow membership status may be awarded to those individuals who have been ASQ members in good standing and meet the following criteria:
• Have at least 15 years of quality-related experience.
• Achieve requirements across six professional categories.
• Are sponsored by peers and endorsed by their ASQ section or division.
• Have been a senior member for five years or longer.
The new Fellows will be honored at a ceremony at ASQ’s World Conference on Quality and Improvement held May 16 - 18 in Milwaukee, Wis., USA.
The 2016 ASQ new Fellows, in alphabetical order, are:
John B. Bowles, University of South Carolina, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Columbia, S.C. — For outstanding contributions to system reliability, performance modeling and performance analysis; for excellence in education and contributions to international conferences; and for excellence in coaching and mentoring.
Kristin L. Case, CaseConsults, Tulsa, Okla. — For contributions, leadership and service to ASQ at the local, regional and national level; for work as a practitioner, consultant, presenter and educator; for bringing clarity and fun to the design, implementation and improvement of quality management systems for the manufacturing, service and aerospace industries.
John J. Casey, Honeywell, Tempe, Ariz. — For mentoring, coaching, and leading quality professions around the world in preventing errors in both manufacturing and healthcare settings; for tenacity and follow-through with organizations to improve quality levels through speaking events and in writing; and for giving back to professional organizations in leadership efforts to improve processes.
Rachel M. Delisle, KARL STORZ Endovision Inc., Charlton, Mass. — For outstanding professional contributions in practicing lean, Six Sigma and quality management; for training and mentoring people in Six Sigma and continuous improvement; and for being an active member leader of the Six Sigma Forum and the WPI Alumni Association.
Roberto Guzman, CR Bard, Morrisville, N.C. — For outstanding leadership and continuing dedication to help organizations and individuals achieve the highest standards in quality management, regulatory and engineering.
Glenn I. Hamamura, Systems Excellence LLC, Honolulu — For exceptional leadership and dedicated service to ASQ and the Hawaii Section 0623; for outstanding contributions in advancing the application of quality principles in software engineering, project management and organizational excellence; and for teaching, coaching and mentoring the next generation of quality professionals.
Christianna P. Hayes, Impact Performance Solutions, Morgan, Utah — For outstanding service to ASQ’s section and division members; for leadership in the quality profession including work as a practitioner, consultant, educator and author; and for unwavering dedication to sharing quality knowledge and experience with others.
Eduardo Heidelberg, QRM Consultants LLC, Parlin, N.J. — In recognition of his long-term career as a quality practitioner; for continuous dedication to improving the understanding of quality risk management; and for leadership and mentoring efforts at the section, division and national levels within ASQ.
Michael Alan Hirt, ADAC Automotive, A VAST Alliance Partner, Grand Rapids, Mich. — For exemplary leadership while mentoring others; for dedication to the instruction and promotion of the quality sciences; for utilization of quality concepts; and for interaction with multiple disciplines and organizations while modeling a professional demeanor.
Rajesh Jugulum, Cigna, Bloomfield, Conn. — For outstanding contributions to the field of quality through projects resulting in significant benefits to the Society, publications, innovations and training.
Lucita D. Kahn, Retired, U.S. Army, RDECOM, ARDEC, Picatinny, N.J. — For outstanding leadership and commitment to the quality professional and member units in North Jersey Section 304 and the Electronics and Communications Division; for a distinguished career and respected leadership of various quality activities; and for professional competences in quality management for governmental and private organizations.
Anantha Kollengode, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn. — For outstanding leadership and commitment to the Society; and for passion and dedication to quality and excellence in utilizing diverse tools from lean methodologies, Six Sigma, project management, process improvement and change management to improve safety, quality and national healthcare outcomes while reducing costs within the healthcare community.
T. M. Kubiak, Performance Improvement Solutions, Fort Mohave, Ariz. — For exceptionally long service to ASQ and outstanding leadership and commitment to the quality profession and the Society; for passion and dedication to quality and excellence in utilizing diverse process improvement tools; and for dedicated professional leadership through the ASQ Six Sigma Black Belt handbook series.
Kim Hung Lotto Lai, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corp., Hong Kong — For outstanding leadership in quality activities in ASQ World Partner® program; and for professional competence in quality management in the testing and certification industry as well as in quality education activities for local universities.
Austin S. Lin, Google, Mountain View, Calif. — For exceptional leadership in the implementation and execution of supply chain quality systems and in partnering with external networks to advance quality and engineering capability beyond the traditional boundaries of the profession.
Kathleen M. Lyall, Whirlpool Corporation, Benton Harbor, Mich. — For outstanding leadership and accomplishments in the fields of supplier quality and supplier development; for inspiring quality professionals to pursue additional quality knowledge, skills and ASQ certifications; and for sharing quality and leadership expertise with ASQ members worldwide and the Phi Sigma Rho sorority.
Chhanubhai Govind Mistry, Retired, Ontario, Calif. — For exceptional contributions developing, promoting and inspiring the advancement of quality practices across diverse industries including commercial, aerospace, defense and nuclear organizations; for development of innovative application of quality methods; for prompting the advancement of others through mentoring and academia; and for continual support to ASQ as a speaker, contributor and leader.
Tracy L. Owens, LexisNexis Dayton, Ohio — For outstanding technical and leadership accomplishments in creating a new Innovation Interest Group, including co-authoring books and journal articles on quality and innovation; for teaching lean and Six Sigma at the university level; and for leading lean and Six Sigma projects at several companies.
Steven J. Schuelka, SJS Consulting, Crown Point, Ind. — For championing quality improvement by delivering training internally and educating others throughout the Chicago area; and for providing exemplary leadership and service to the Illiana Section, the Statistics Division and ASQ as a whole.
Chad A. Smith, Continuous Improvement Solutions LLC, Bella Vista, Ariz. — For substantial contributions to ASQ in the areas of certification and training in Lean Six Sigma; and for leadership of a successful, faith-based organization committed to helping people and their organizations solve problems and improve operations to become more productive, effective and competitive.
Robert William Stoddard II, Software Engineering Institute, Pittsburgh — For contributions to the fields of quality, reliability, Six Sigma, and process improvement as a book author, innovative leader, patent holder, entrepreneur, corporate leader, recognized quality award winner, ASQ certified instructor, long-time active ASQ division leader and member of the core team initiating the ASQ Certified Software Quality Engineer exam.
Zeljko M. Torbica, West Virginia University Institute of Technology, Montgomery, W.Va. — For outstanding contributions in researching the concept of customer satisfaction in construction; and for leadership and commitment to promoting quality concepts in the construction industry.
Wayne R. Wesley, HEART Trust/NTA, Kingston, Jamaica — For outstanding leadership in the application of quality management principles to institutional management; and for professional competence in organizational development and improvement in Jamaica and the Caribbean region.
David Zubrow, Software Engineering Institute, Pittsburgh — For contributions to the fields of software quality and process improvement as a noted author, speaker and researcher; and for service to the ASQ Software Division as an original member of the CSQE Development Committee, chair of the 11th ICSC conference and founding member of the “Software Quality Professional” editorial board.
