Assemble Systems Announces Support for Revit Parts & PCL PartsLab

PCL Construction, a leading builder and a customer of both Autodesk and Assemble has created a powerful free plug-in called PCL PartsLab that will significantly improve construction companies ability to use Revit data for Takeoff, Estimating, Scheduling, and Project Management. PCL PartsLab drastically reduces the time required to create and use Revit Parts in construction models. Parts allow slabs, walls, columns and other BIM components to be broken down automatically into subcomponents with their geometric, property, and metadata available. This allows estimators and other project personnel to use more BIM in their daily workflow to increase accuracy and reduce risk.
The technical team at PCL Construction, led by Virtual Construction Manager Nick Kurth and Daron Denton, Manager of Virtual Construction R&D, worked closely with the leadership and development team at Assemble Systems to ensure a successful workflow between Assemble and Revit Parts. “We identified a gap within the industry where GC’s were re-creating structural and architectural models, and recognized that Revit Parts would allow us to eliminate that redundancy by leveraging models from our design teams and at the same time detail those models to reflect construction means and methods without impacting the integrity of the design model itself.”said Daron Denton.
