Athlete Network Announces Fall Career Fair & Forum Lineup
Lenexa, Kansas (PRWEB) September 12, 2016 -- Athlete Network announced today their 2016 Fall Career Fair & Forum lineup to provide current student-athletes at their member schools a truly unique resource for career and networking development.
Over the past 17 years, Athlete Network has conducted over 1,000 training and development seminars and career fairs at universities throughout the country, providing much needed career education for over 350,000 student-athletes. In addition to their proprietary training and development seminars, Athlete Network builds and maintains customized career networking websites for individual university athletic departments, providing additional career education, mentors, access to career opportunities and potential employers upon graduation, and a platform to connect with athletic alumni who are encouraged to join the network as mentors and/or job seekers.
“It’s obvious that the administrations at these universities care about its student-athletes beyond their playing days and graduation, and we are excited to be partnered with such outstanding institutions,” said Chris Smith, Athlete Network Founder & CEO. “Due to the demanding nature of collegiate athletics, these athletes face a unique set of challenges regarding career development not typically experienced by the general student-body. The current economic environment will provide even greater challenges for today’s student-athletes to overcome, making career development more important than ever.”
“TCU Athletics has been partnering with Athlete Network for a number of years with much success,” said Gretchen Bouton, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student Services at Texas Christian University Athletics. “We have been pleased with the variety and quality of national employers and graduate schools they have been able to bring to campus. Athlete Network not only saves us time but is also helpful with providing feedback on how to better improve our event each year.”
Athlete Network hosts many events each semester for student-athletes at prestigious colleges and universities across the country to provide them with access to exclusive opportunities to network with local and nationwide employers and graduate schools. The event is not a typical career fair and also consists of an education networking component to provide athletes with more personal time with the recruiters.
“We are thrilled to provide a stage for leading institutions to display their unwavering commitment toward student-athlete development,” said DJ Washington, Athlete Network Vice President of Collegiate Relations. “It truly is amazing to watch the non-stop interaction among attendees and how impressed employers and graduate schools are by the style, format, and reach of each event. What a great way to show their support of the university while focusing on the development of tomorrow's top talent.”
