Opening in Sheffield in 2013, Nourish produce fresh and nutritious food and aim to offer a healthier fast food experience. The restaurant will be giving meals to Sheffield’s homeless community, and Atlas Corp will be donating £100 a week to the restaurant to help them cover costs and provide food for more people.
As a conscientious firm that believes in the importance of giving back to their local community, Atlas Corp is delighted to be able to contribute to such a worthwhile cause. In a statement released by the firm this week, AtlasCorp discussed the reasons why they think more businesses should support meaningful community projects and how this can benefit their business.
Building respect and a good reputation in the community - According to findings from the 2015 Cone Communications / Ebiquity Global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) study, 93 percent of global citizens are more likely to have a positive image of a company that engages in CSR within their community. An overwhelming 90 percent will be more likely to trust that business, and 88 percent of them will be more loyal to the company and continue to buy their products or services.
Making your community a better place to live - Businesses that contribute to their local community are in a better position to make a direct, positive impact that will hopefully make a sustainable change for future generations. AtlasCorp is hoping that their weekly donations to Nourish will help improve the lives of Sheffield’s homeless community by providing them with a daily, nutritious, warm meal.
Employees respect leaders who do good - Employees that work for an organisation that engages with their community and takes steps to improve it are more likely to respect their leaders. By being part of a company that places community welfare high on their priority list, employees are more likely to stay loyal to their firm as they feel that they are making a positive impact. This consequently improves morale and staff motivation, which in turn leads to a successful business.
Speaking on their decision to support Nourish, AtlasCorp’s Managing Director Matthew Stewart said, “We are absolutely delighted to be associated with Nourish and help them feed homeless people in Sheffield. This is a fantastic initiative, and we are committed to supporting them in any way we can.”
