ELMHURST, Ill., Jan. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- A native of Poland, Kasia moved to the United States when she was 10 years old. She began her career as a legal assistant (what we called a secretary back then) in the State's Attorneys' office. Kasia earned her Bachelor's degree from DePaul University in Chicago. In 2008, she received her Juris Doctorate degree from the John Marshall Law School. Kasia joined Weiss-Kunz & Oliver, LLC in 2018 as a Senior Associate Attorney and was promoted to Partner in December 2020.
Kasia worked as an Assistant State's Attorney with the DuPage County State's Attorneys' office for over five years. In this role, she handled general misdemeanors, domestic violence cases, and orders of protection violations, conducting over 100 trials, including jury trials. After her promotion to the Felony Division, Kasia prosecuted highly complex child abuse and neglect cases involving DCFS, parental rights, child removal, and juvenile delinquency cases. Kasia turned to the private sector, concentrating in Family Law, in 2014.
Kasia has earned a reputation within the legal community as a skilled and tenacious negotiator. As a former prosecutor, her extensive trial experience distinctly sets her apart from her peers in the courtroom. Her strong work ethic and experience allows Kasia to provide in-depth analysis for all of her cases, resulting in successful outcomes for her clients. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the DuPage County Bar Association, and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois. Kasia was also named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers from 2016-2019.
