FREDERICK, Md., June 11, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Audio-Video Group is pleased to celebrate its 20th year serving Maryland and the DC metro area. We are proud of our team and the exceptional clientele we are privileged to perform work.
Founder Eric Johnson was always fascinated with technology. His career began in nurse call and school intercom, and he knew he wanted something more dynamic. His father was a pastor, and when it came time to overhaul the church's A/V system, he brought Eric out to meet the sound expert. The meeting opened the door for the next phase in Eric's journey.
Eric went on to do designs and sales. "What I found I most enjoyed was helping people and sharing their message," he said. He wanted his client relationships to move beyond the transactional and knew he would be happiest working for himself. "I wanted to take my AV experience--my design, sales, and installation knowledge--and focus on building and nurturing relationships, and go beyond making a sale."
Now, Eric and Audio-Video Group will work with anyone who has a message to share with a group. "Our ideal clients are those who value a relationship with their integrator and know it's not just about buying equipment," Eric explained. "They understand the experience they want to create and are willing to work toward that solution. It's not usually productive for us to work with people who only want us to tell them what to buy. We work well with people who come in with an open mind and are saying these are our issues; this is what we want to create, help us."
Audio-Video Group's team has weathered recessions and now a pandemic. They continue to grow and have added team members during the COVID-19 crisis. "At the end of the day, I think it's about intelligent growth and scalability," he said.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Audio-Video Group has helped community organizations like churches, schools, nursing homes, and more find ways to operate and service their constituents. The team developed packages to help stream graduations, create virtual visitation opportunities for residents in nursing homes and hospice centers, and has helped church leaders bring their messages to their parishioners every week. Companies, too, have sought Audio-Video Group's help in these unprecedented times to keep their remote workers connected to the team with reliable technology.
Audio-Video Group's focus on customer relationships has served them well for their entire 20-year history, but now more than ever, when technology is keeping people connected while they must stay apart. "That's part of why we build relationships," Eric said. "We don't want to only sell products. We want the client to end up with the desired experience."
The future of innovation in audio/video technology is bright. "I see that 20 years from now, the experience will continue to heighten as technology grows. We've gone from large, expensive gym projectors to large view LED walls. Seeing how much exponential growth has transpired in just the past five to seven years, it's hard to imagine what will be possible in 20 years," Eric predicted.
Whatever happens with the development of technology and with the pandemic, Audio-Video Group will stick to its core principle: "Integrity means everything. You're only as good as your word. It's so important to build relationships."
