Recent release "Life Be Like That Sometimes: A Book of Poems" from Page Publishing author Amanda Patricia is a thrillingly relatable collection of poems that explore the themes of self, love, longing, rejection, acceptance, and ultimately happiness. Readers will discover a little of their own selves in each step of the journey.
NEW YORK, June 20, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Amanda Patricia, an up-and-coming author who hails from Hawaii and California, has completed her new book "Life Be Like That Sometimes: A Book of Poems": an experiential collection of her feelings told through poetry. She is a multicultural queen who started writing at a young age and discovered poetry in high school at a program called MACLA, also known as the Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana in San Jose, California. Through this program, she was able to compete in an international slam poetry competition called Brave New Voices in 2013. She then continued to perform her poetry at different venues and in the Young Wolf Society Poetry Club at her high school, Downtown College Preparatory. Poetry became an outlet for her to express her thoughts and feelings in a written form.
Patricia's advice to others is, "Words are powerful; they can tear the world apart or help heal scars. Once they're out there, they cannot be taken back. So be kind, be honest, and be authentic."
Published by Page Publishing, Patricia's heartfelt collection grabs readers from the very first entry "What Am I?" where she grapples with her own cultural identity. The journey continues through a series of poems about longing, love, rejection, and more.
"If you can relate to anything I've written and that made you feel less alone, then everything was worth it. We're in this together because life is like that sometimes and it's better when we're not alone," Patricia said.
Readers who wish to experience this inspiring work can purchase "Life Be Like That Sometimes: A Book of Poems" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
