MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 7, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Celeste Newhome walks down memory lane to share her personal story of finding hope and healing from an abusive childhood and challenging adult life in "Time/Sand Memoirs: Healing of My Fractured Soul" (published by Balboa Press).
Weaving poetry and prose, this memoir presents a compilation of one woman's struggle, abuse, abandonment, ill health, family, marriage, relationships, hope, love, spirituality and resilience. It details the author's tragic beginning being born to a mother with a narcissistic personality disorder and untreated alcoholism, and an extremely abusive alcoholic father. The rawness of abuse, abandonment and rejection left scars on her heart, never speaking to anyone of her experiences until later in her adult life. This book allows the reader to experience the inner cries that do not surface, the transition that occurs once the pain and anguish are allowed to surface, and the many that had outstretched hands along the pathway to aid in the unfolding of spiritual gifts that were buried and came into fruition as the child grew into an older adult woman. Sixty years of illness spoke clearly to the condition of her body, but the astonishing awareness came to light when her spiritual teacher told her it was not her body that was sick but her soul.
"In today's society, with social unrest, a pandemic that has taken the world by surprise, threatening the very fabric of unity within the family and within ourselves, vulnerability, poverty, abuse, abandonment and rejection, is once again heightened. There is a need for healing, a need for hope, and an avenue to peace," Newhome states. "'Time/Sand Memoirs: Healing of My Fractured Soul' shares a tale of fear, loneliness, strength and spiritual awakenings that some may view as tragedy, but indeed is a tale of unconditional love and great awakening. A tale of atonement in one woman's life that ushers in hope for others."
It is the author's hope that as she shares her story, readers will get a sense of hope and a belief that they can and do heal from childhood and adult trauma. That they can find themselves by allowing the spirit to open their heart. About the Author
Celeste Newhome was born in 1950, the "boomers" generation. It was a time of economic increase and continued uncertainty. Post World War II, Civil Rights Movement, the Korean War, and the fear of Communism were the news on mouths of the nation. For Newhome, it meant hiding under desks in grade school barring a nuclear bomb attack, whenever the school bell rang during the day in preparation for the real thing. Her later school years were the most memorable where she participated in many aspects of student life. Newhome has a master's degree in social work, is a licensed independent clinical social worker and a licensed alcohol and drug counselor who has had an extensive career as a psychotherapist. She is also certified with prophetic gifts including clairvoyance, claircognizance, clairsentience, and is an intuitive empath. She is an enthusiastic public speaker creating topics focusing on the path to enlightenment through workshops, songs, poetry, energy healing and counseling. She has been a guest speaker at the International Conference of Healing Beyond Borders in 2018, and the Women and Spirituality Conference held in 2019. Newhome is currently working on her next book regarding her death experience.
