He spent most of his free time exploring and wandering the forests and open country. Lacking social activities, he became fascinated with fantasy novels. The genre was well received by a young man who wandered the countryside with a stick as a sword and an old, round sled covered in duct tape as a shield. John is a husband to a loving wife who has stuck by him through the thick and thin for over twenty years. His is also a father to two wonderful young men, who are the best children a man could ever ask for, and a grandfather to the happiest little boy. John is an avid and extremely active member of a small, but lively, church. His oldest son is an Air Force veteran and married to an amazing young woman. His youngest son was born with the unexpected gift of Down syndrome, which has shown John someone can always be happy as well as filled with love and forgiveness from birth.
