Recent release "No Agenda" from Page Publishing author Loyd Pennington is about how the decisions made by Pierce have influenced his life. It shows how interconnected people are to one another with their actions and decisions.
WAXHAW, N.C., June 15, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Loyd Pennington, a man who served in the military and also has several business ventures, has completed his new book "No Agenda": a gripping and potent drama showing how the decisions people make create outcomes for not only themselves but for the people around them.
Loyd writes, "When Pierce was just eleven years old, his shoes had literally torn apart during recess at school. The sole of the shoe was separated from the upper part to the point that only about ten percent of the area held the shoot together. When he took a step, it slapped loudly on the bottom of his foot and showed the large hole in his sock. He had embarrassingly returned to the classroom alone and used the stapler in an attempt to repair his shoe with hopes it would get him home. It did. That night after a few beers, his disgusted stepfather had remarked to him that his shoe would not have fallen apart if he hadn't been out there 'kicking them balls and running around.' Even at eleven years old, he understood that this was absurd but still felt very guilty and found a quiet place to cry. It stands as a very stark reminder that words are indeed powerful. Some, both good and bad, will echo through the canyons of time. Some will encourage and energize an individual throughout their life's journey, while others, like these spoken to an eleven-year-old boy, whose only offense was to act like an eleven-year-old boy, would prove to be so powerful that they would never be forgotten.
"Pierce would try to wear a dilapidated old pair of shoes from his older brother, but they were three sizes too large and ridiculous. He would have to stay out of school the remainder of the week since there would be no money until after payday on Friday. It was difficult, and it was not lost on the young man that every night a twelve pack of beer and cigarettes came into the house. The cost for a pair of the cheap shoes he wore would not even have totaled just one night's beer and cigarette expense. It was hard for an eleven-year old to understand that choice. But after a few unscheduled days of being home alone, Saturday came, and another cheap pair of shoes were purchased. It would cross his mind from time to time to try to take better care of those shoes even though it seemed to be against the natural order of things for a young energetic boy. The experience had a profound effect and served as a very valuable lesson as he grew older, and Pierce would choose never to drink or smoke. It was also that incident that had caused him to make the silent promise to himself that if he ever had children, he would always choose his words carefully and do all he could to provide for them."
Published by Page Publishing, Loyd Pennington's insightful tale shows that in life, when decisions are made, they shape not one's own life but also the lives of others. The characters in the novel make decisions that influence the future of their own lives and the people around them. The stories exemplify that it's important to make the proper decision. Otherwise, harm can come unexpectedly through a ripple effect.
The author guides the reader through multiple accounts of the decisions the characters make and how they are related to one another. This very thought-provoking story shows the importance of taking the time to completely ponder actions before going through with them. The devastation and intense alterations that can occur from just one tiny decision, makes it imperative. People are interconnected so decisions that are made can possibly even affect the whole world.
