Author Marlon Bennet's new book "A Worker, a Sailor, a Boxer Oh My" is a personal reflection on key events in his adult life
Recent release "A Worker, a Sailor, a Boxer Oh My" from Page Publishing author Marlon Bennet is a slim memoir recalling his life, from service in the Navy to the pursuit of a college education and a career in boxing.
TRENTON, N.J., Feb. 7, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Marlon Bennet, a hardworking man and boxer who joined the Navy at the age of thirty-three and went to college at thirty-eight, has published his latest book "A Worker, a Sailor, a Boxer Oh My": a candid look at his challenges, hopes, and dreams.
Marlon was always a hard worker with a low income. The Navy was a good fit for him at thirty-three years old. Marlon goes through tribulation at work in the US Navy and while boxing. Marlon left the Navy in between work and boxing and enjoyed paradise in Hawaii before he went back to work and college. Hawaii would end short.
Marlon went back to Trenton, New Jersey, and started school with a great job at the Trane factory. He thought that he would be a supervisor there with his college education. That job would end. Also, Marlon had an accident, but wouldn't one know it—he got no justice. Marlon worked at two places (at the same time). That must only happen to the good guys (if one can remember these things) because that would drive the police crazy!
Then Marlon thought about boxing. It would be his first fight at the age of forty if the boxer would show up this time. Who else could pull this off? Marlon had superhigh power sparring at the gyms that led to nothing. Now Marlon is real mad! Still, Marlon would have his degree soon. However, in the book, some of the instructors and professors would fight him for his grades. He averaged a B but earned an A. Also, he has been through some wild stuff in his personal life. For instance, he came across a real monster! Marlon said forget all that above and started training for boxing at the age of fifty-seven. Who else could pull this off? The best is yet to come. The trainers are waiting for him to make his weight. That is a hard way to win a love, however exciting!
Published by Page Publishing, Marlon Bennet's poignant book is a deeply personal true story of perseverance, determination, and faith.
