Author Parallels Experience Losing Her Son to Cancer with Mother Mary's Grief Following Jesus' Death in Inspiring New Book
In 'They Will Never Be Forgotten,' Sandra Leah reflects on her grief journey, the challenges her own mother faced, and the inspiring story of Mother Mary's life to help others overcome life's difficulties
WINTER HAVEN, Fla., May 24, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The death of a child is a devastating and unexpected event in any parent's life. But after such immense loss, families can find healing by coming together, turning to their faith, and comforting themselves with stories of others who have also overcome tragedy. In "They Will Never Be Forgotten," author Sandra Leah twines her experiences losing her son to a rare cancer with stories of her own mother's perseverance during difficult times and reflections on biblical history about Jesus' mother, Mary.
Sandra's inspiring book parallels her unique journey through grief in the wake of her 24-year-old son's death with the life of Mary, drawing careful ties between Mary's loss of her son and Sandra's experience of losing a child. Through this comparison and by leaning on her faith in God, Sandra found hope, the strength to smile again, and the will to begin her healing process. "They Will Never Be Forgotten" shares how the support of Sandra's daughter, friends, doctors, nurses, caregivers, and relatives held her up along her journey.
"This book is written in memory of my son, who taught me that with love, and a great deal of faith, we can move on in life after the loss of a loved one," Sandra wrote in the preface of "They Will Never Be Forgotten". "He taught me to be strong and never give up. Because of his great courage and strength during his fight with cancer, his sister Lisa and I were able to go on with our lives. God also played a great role. It is because of Eric and God that I know this story has to be written."
Ultimately, "They Will Never Be Forgotten" uplifts people who have lost a loved one or who are supporting a loved one with a terminal illness and gives strength to anyone who is searching for the willpower to carry on during a difficult time.
"This is a beautiful book! It contains wonderfully woven stories about love, faith and life," a reader wrote in a five-star review of the book on Amazon. "I especially enjoy how Sandra Leah parallels her own life's journey with the journey of Jesus' Mother Mary. Their stories of love and endurance are remarkable. This book honors her son Eric, Mother Mary and their families and friends. Reading the stories of their lives touched my heart in a special way."
