Xulon Press presents an inspirational personal memoir that will provide hope to anyone facing hardship and not seeing a way out.
EDMOND, Okla., May 11, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Author Ann Haskin shares her story to provide much needed hope and encouragement to all readers of her book, Ten Lost Children: A Story of Redemption ($22.49, paperback, 9781662873379; $9.99, e-book, 9781662873386).
Haskin knows adversity firsthand. She also knows the power of God. She was born in a three-room shack in the backwoods of Alabama. When she was two years old, her father passed away and she and her siblings were left in the hands of her abusive, neglectful mother. Facing hunger and fending for themselves, she and the other children had to search for food until one day, when they were rescued by the police. Escorted to an aunt's cotton farm, they were obligated to pick cotton all day with glaring sun and uncomfortable humid temperatures. Then, upon being returned to their mother and a strange man living in their house, the family fled to California and the children witnessed the horror as this man would beat their mother.
But Haskin's story did not end there. Her life demonstrates the power of God, which transformed a shattered childhood into a life of purpose and meaning. Her story is a story of hope, faith and forgiveness and how she ultimately found joy and peace in His promises. By sharing the emotional details of her personal life, she is graciously helping others that are experiencing adversity, hardship and trials in their own lives.
When asked what inspired the author to write this book, Haskin said, "I felt called to tell my story to help anyone who has experienced abuse, loss, brokenness or pain."
Ann Haskin, who grew up in California, recently moved to Oklahoma to live near her family. Since the 1970s, she has been involved in Calvary Chapel, serving in many ministries. Haskin has faithfully volunteered as a chaplain in Juvenile Hall for seven years and has a passion to evangelize and minister to those who are broken and hurting. She had the privilege of being a counselor at crusades that featured well-known speakers including Billy Graham, Greg Laurie and Franklin Graham. Haskin speaks at different events throughout the United States, sharing her story in order to help others find redemption as she did in the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She believes that God called her into this ministry, and she is excited to see how He plans to use her life story and this book. In addition to ministry, Haskin enjoys bicycling, hiking, drawing, playing guitar and traveling.
