Recent release "Baking with Nana" from Page Publishing author D.J. Lawrence is a charmingly illustrated narrative with engaging rhymes and a gentle cadence sure to appeal to young readers. A little girl describes the process for baking sugar cookies in her beloved Nana's kitchen, and the mouthwatering reward at the end!
AMHERST, Ohio, July 6, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- D.J. Lawrence, a manufacturing professional who retired after thirty-seven years in the industry and later accepted a part-time consulting position with an exhibit company, arranging logistics and show services to support their clients at trade shows around the country, has completed his new book "Baking with Nana": a warmhearted children's story inspired by his own granddaughters.
The author shares, "As an adult, I looked over a good century of life from my grandparents, parents, and myself; and I was shocked by the change that has taken place. When my grandparents were kids, planes were just coming about; today we have been to the moon, have a space station, and even see private individuals going into space. My parents shared a telephone line with one or more neighbors; today we have cell phones in our pockets on which we can even watch a movie.
This rapid change requires greater attention to the growth of our educational system, yet it is said the average American reads at a seventh- to eighth-grade level. It will take a lot more than that to not just survive but to advance forward. Consequently, we need to continue to spark the young minds of our children and strengthen their appetite for more.
Just as I see a great need for the young generations to learn and expand their education, I equally see the need for those of us who have experiences that may assist them to step forward and provide them with possible tools by which they can be successful.
Teaching students to read and write is the beginning, but we then need to provide them with the desire to seek out information. Most carry a computer with them daily, known as a cell phone. Unfortunately, most use the cell phone to text their friends. If we can spark their minds to seek information, then maybe they'll begin Googling answers to questions that enter their minds."
Published by Page Publishing, D.J. Lawrence's engrossing book is a delightful addition to any children's library.
Readers who wish to experience this engaging work can purchase "Baking with Nana" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
