NEW YORK, Feb. 12, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Faye Valenti, a debut author, has completed her new book "Beating Heart": the story of Phoenix and Airth, the creators of all life on Earth, and their volatile relationship.
"This is a story steeped in turmoil and grief and carried through the ages by hope and love alone," Faye Valenti said of her work. "From the nothing sprang the Phoenix, and with her came life. Though her greatness came with a price, and her life was never her own. She was trapped in an endless pursuit and forced into a never-ending cycle of reincarnation, and her only desire was a life of her own."
Published by Page Publishing, Faye Valenti's novel, a contemporary addition to the gothic novel genre, emerged from a period of great change in the author's life.
"After the loss of a lifelong love, and with the birth of my daughter, I felt my creativity lead me to share my stories with all who would dare to open their hearts and minds," Valenti said of her inspiration.
Incorporating aspects of traditional paganism, the story pits Phoenix's admiration of the humans she and Airth created, against Airth's disdain for the seemingly weak creatures. When Phoenix rescinds her immortal form to hide among the humans, Airth must come up with clever means of pursuit. While Phoenix's soul enters the shell of a newborn human, Airth can search for her on the Earth in the body of a recently deceased human. The story includes other magical creatures on both sides of the struggle between the mortals and the immortals.
Readers who wish to enter this magical reimagining of the world can purchase "Beating Heart" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
