Massimo Parlermo, author of “Desire for Love,” has completed his new book “A Desire for Respect: The Saga of Gianni Martino”: a fascinating novel that focuses on the professional career of Gianni Martino and how his original plans differ from what his career turns out to be. He had always loved sports, but little did he know that a play he was involved with in a softball game would change the course of his life and career.

Author Massimo Parlermo introduces his work, writing, “Gianni Martino was a simple man and was seeking the simple things in life—good family, good job, and good loving relationship—but nothing would come simple for him. Respect was especially important for him in life, love, family, friends, and work. He grew up and worked in Chicago and the Chicago suburbs. A lot of times, he would think about a song that would relate to his current situations he was going through to try and feel better if the situation were a bad, or stressful one, or even if he were happy, he would think of a song for the happy situation. Along with music, he also could lean on television shows, or sports as another means for him to release stress and would try to utilize in certain situations in his life and through his professional career. In a sense, he felt that sports and work functioned in the same manner, especially team sports.”

Published by Page Publishing, Massimo Parlermo’s engaging tale follows Gianni as he struggles to rebuild his life to seek the respect that is so important to him.

Readers who wish to experience this memorable work can purchase “A Desire for Respect: The Saga of Gianni Martino” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
