Michelle McCladdie is a Georgia native, who was raised in Sacramento, California. She is an advocate for unhoused individuals and a devoted volunteer in her Sacramento community. She works with children with individual needs. Her goal is to eventually run her own long term placement home for troubled youth. Her chief amusement during her leisure, Michelle likes to paint, write poetry, and research things that interest her like biology and natural cures. She is very passionate about learning new things, health and fitness, and simplifying. Michelle has published her first book “The Gold Cigar Box” a beautifully illustrated tale for young readers.

Ellie is a soft-spoken six-year-old who lives in Colorado Springs with her grandparents. Faced with her first "winter" project assigned by her first-grade teacher Mrs. Canker, Ellie is nervous but confident because her cheerful sweet grandmother is right there to support her. Ellie's Grandfather is a stern and efficient retired serviceman who most times falls quietly into the background to his wife and granddaughter but is always at the forefront. Though her grandfather is set in his ways, Ellie will soon learn that old can be made new again.
