Author Novelizes Diary to Encourage Mental Emancipation
WEST HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (PRWEB) August 22, 2016 -- Wanting to spread her insight about modern life and the conflicts of relationships, author Eva H. Guggenheimer is launching a new marketing push for her novel, “The Liberation of Rebecca Stern: Being the Diary of a Jewish Housewife Who Died of Cancer or Malpractice, or Both, After a Life of Meaningful Endeavor” (published by Archway Publishing).
The book features Rebecca, who is the embodiment of women being mentally subservient to their men. The story takes place in New York and explores man’s treachery, as well as women’s struggle for mental emancipation. Guggenheimer wants to give readers the power to “free your mind and follow no one else … Women need to find freedom inside themselves.”

Rebecca Stern’s diary was given to me by her family after her death. I got it in a bundle of letters and papers which nobody else wanted to have, and I read it in amazement … Poor Rebecca, she was not concerned with literary value. For her, the diary was purely a means of survival, a place of recreation, a vehicle to Paradise. She died young, not yet fifty years old, and she knew it in advance. “I’ll drop dead before I’m fifty,” she used to say. She was given to black moods of despair, but she overcame them quickly and unexpectedly, changing to a kind of gruff hilarity, quoting verse and making puns on everything in sight, including herself and, of course, Adam.

Eva H. Guggenheimer was born in 1924 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. She married Heinrich W. Guggenheimer in 1947 and earned a bachelor’s degree, master’s and doctorate from the University of Minnesota. She is also author of “Rhyme Effects and Rhyming Figures,” “Jewish Family Names and Their Origins” and “Poems.” She wrote several papers on lexicography in Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic.
