Philip Antony is a lawyer, business consultant, university professor, husband, and father who spent his eventful childhood in New York City. He has published his new book “The Day Charlize Met Her Guardian Angel”: his latest in a long line of young people’s stories and novels in which his rich imagination has created a cast of colorful characters and adventures.
Philip writes, “This is a story about Charlize and her two guardian angels. Charlize is thirteen years old and lives in the city. She is a typical teenager: struggling with self-esteem, boys, school, parents, clothes, and friends. Her guardian angel, Lucius Boniface, is her guardian. He is 2,500 years old and has been doing guardian work for what seems forever. He has generally been successful, but this young girl is a challenge like none he has ever experienced. His relationship with Charlize is made more complicated by Lucius’s nemesis, Octavius Oscuro, the other guardian angel, who likes to do things a bit differently. He’s not a bad or malevolent guardian angel—just mischievous.
Charlize and her guardians confront a series of adventures and challenges that require their combined resources of friendship, understanding, personal strength, and most of all, love. Our story opens with Charlize approaching her thirteenth birthday, a special day. However, she and our intrepid guardian, Lucius Boniface, have a difference of opinion about her party dress—a little purple number.”
