“Living Shackled: Diaries of Shackles Removed”: a touching and powerful story of one woman’s triumph over self-destructive behavior and a traumatic past. “Living Shackled: Diaries of Shackles Removed” is the creation of published author, R. D. Pryor, a Baker College alumna, director at the Home Health and Hospice company, and member of the Oasis of Love Full Gospel Church in Jackson, Michigan.
Pryor states: “I was imprisoned by the shackles, and they had characterized an invisible fence around my heart and my mind. The shackles were dominating the cares of my life. There was a lustful power that the shackles were utilizing to keep me entangled in its midst. I couldn’t have seen the way out even if I had tried. I was in complete bondage, and every part of me was shackled to destructive behavior. Then one day, I go over to my grandmother’s house for a barbecue dinner, and the Avon lady is over there, selling my grandmother some bath soaps, and she invites me to church...”
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, R. D. Pryor’s new book recounts how the author learned to move beyond the limitations of the past and create a better life thanks to a simple but powerful belief—that by putting God first, everything is possible.
