CARSON CITY, Nev., Feb. 10, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Greg Melton and Meridith Joyce, great buddies who share a love for horses, have completed their new book "The Pyramid Pony": a riveting tale where a pony begins his mysterious journey around Pyramid Lake in hopes that he will not be alone and will survive until spring.
Melton writes, "I then moved to Carson City, Nevada, and became a miner outside of town until my mother became ill with Alzheimer's. I spent the next ten years faithfully caring for my mother until she passed away, while also working part time as a blacksmith making iron artwork. I created a bronze sculpture of Mark Twain located in the Governor's office and an eighteen-foot bronze statue of Adolph Sutro on the legislative grounds in Carson City, Nevada. Iron works include a diorama of Home Means Nevada, which includes artifacts like metals, rocks and minerals such as pure silver that was obtained from historical places all over the state of Nevada. It was at this time I met a very intelligent and creative 9-year-old girl, Meridith Joyce. Then we came together to write The Pyramid Pony."
Published by Page Publishing, Greg Melton and Meridith Joyce's emotional work allows readers to take a journey with Paint and learn about Paint's life lessons as well as see if he will be able to survive the harsh conditions ahead.
This children's book is based on a true story. Meridith Joyce and Greg Melton have been buddies for a number of years. While fishing in Greg's fishing boat offshore, by the great pyramid at Pyramid Lake, Nevada, they witnessed a wild mustang colt come down from the mountainside in a gangly trot to the beach, stop, and do something very unusual. After seeing the pony and his actions on the beach, Meridith and Greg began discussing what they had just seen a few yards away. The friends didn't hook any fish that day, but their biggest catch was the inspiration for the children's book The Pyramid Pony.
Readers who wish to experience this inspirational book can purchase "The Pyramid Pony" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
