Author's Debut Book Takes the Spirit of Christmas to New Heights
Amanda McIlwain Hauser's children's book, "Impish the Christmas Elf," is the first of a new series set to bring families closer than ever through collaboration and problem-solving during times of uncertainty.
WESTFIELD, Ind., April 20, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Author Amanda McIlwain Hauser understands the importance of Christmas cheer and believes its reach can go much further than the winter months. In her debut children's book, "Impish the Christmas Elf," Hauser tells the story of an elf seeking to bring more light to the cold, dark winter months through a puzzle placed under the Christmas tree for families to solve. As Santa's best gift-wrapping elf, Impish decides to ditch the name tags and use wrapping paper and special clues placed in each child's stocking to bring families closer together as they solve her hilarious riddles to discover whose presents are whose.
With eight children of her own, Hauser traded in a paper-ripping frenzy on Christmas morning for a beloved tradition that required her family to work together, problem solve, and relish in the joys of their accomplishment as a family. The tradition set forth by Impish has been in her family since her first-born, now in college, was five years old. Hauser is now seeking to spread the joy Impish has brought her family to homes across the globe and help more families "be present" during a morning filled with the gift of family.
"I want to keep magic a part of every childhood by enhancing the Christmas gift-giving experience and creating memorable moments for families," the author said, adding, "Impish the Elf is not just a book; it's a series and a tradition that grows with your family every year."
"My children absolutely adore this story and it will be a new holiday classic in our home! Such a fun tradition," a reviewer wrote about the book.
As families welcome Impish into their homes, they can look forward to a continuation of the elf's magical adventures each year. In addition to yearly updates on Impish and her imaginative ways, Hauser is starting a line of correlating props to bring Impish's antics to fruition for families. For those unsure how to integrate Impish in their home, Hauser has a blog with tips and tricks to the trade, a step-by-step guide, and additional author-guided support. With another book on the way readers can enjoy a continuation of Impish's mischief each year.
