Automated Grocery Delivery Service Jupiter Introduces a Meal Planning Feature Simplifying Home Cooked Meals
The local delivery business serving San Francisco residents developed an AI platform that significantly cuts down the time people spend online building their weekly grocery lists.
SAN FRANCISCO, July 30, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- As more shoppers opt for grocery delivery services thinking it will save them time each week, the reality sets in that they've merely upgraded from the checkout counter to the kitchen counter. Traditional delivery services might help save a trip to the store, but consumers are still carrying the mental load, having to make sure everything they need is in their online carts.
Jupiter is the minority-owned business started by four Stanford alumni that's already making a name for itself with member time-saving perks. Utilizing a smarter shopping platform, it has a clear goal: after a few weeks of using the service, shoppers don't have to spend more than five minutes thinking about their meals and groceries for the week.
Jupiter allows users to set up their favorite items on automatic reorder, and loads up their carts using its Autopilot technology. Users have some days to make edits, and after that, orders get placed and delivered automatically. These set-and-forget features and meal planning system reduce stress and mental load.
The San Francisco-area service recently launched a new feature helping users make more homemade meals instead of opting for expensive meal kits and premade dishes. Jupiter's new recipe system helps users discover new recipes, or build their own on the platform, and put their associated ingredients on automatic reorder too. This system is especially useful for families who plan meal-themed dinner nights such as Meatloaf Mondays or Taco Tuesdays.
According to co-founder and CEO Chad Munroe, users save an average of nine to 12 hours per month with Jupiter due to how the model is streamlined. The ordering app also includes more than your average grocery staples. For those doing more than just home cooking, it's a catalog consisting of cleaning and household products, prepared meals, meal kits and snacks.
In addition to offering time-saving "autopilot" features, Jupiter differentiates itself further from big business grocery services with reliable and recurrent weekly delivery instead of having to compete for specific time windows. This convenience extends to a more personalized delivery experience.
Members are assigned a dedicated team of grocers responsible for fulfilling orders in their specific neighborhood. Once a week, everything comes delivered at the same time, by the same people, versus putting in orders and coordinating deliveries with three to five different services. Jupiter's delivery personnel are employees who earn living wages and benefits.
During this time, the company follows a safety protocol for contactless deliveries. Munroe explains that this is another bonus of the personally-assigned shopping team experience. It eliminates the COVID-19 risk of multiple strangers handling household goods and it ensures consistency on the orders.
Jupiter only requires a flat rate membership of $20 a month. It does not charge extra fees for delivery. Interested customers can sign up for a 14-day free trial.
