AutoPets™ Announces 2019 Out-of-the-Box Thinking Scholarship Winners
Litter-Robot® manufacturer awards financial scholarships to 3 students.
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 1, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- AutoPets is thrilled to announce the winners of the 2019 Out-of-the-Box Thinking Scholarship. The manufacturer of the Litter-Robot®, the highest-rated automatic, self-cleaning cat litter box, created the scholarship to reward inventive students with financial aid for college.
Applicants were prompted to develop the next big idea to improve pet care and/or animal welfare. This idea could be either a digital product (app, AI, virtual reality, augmented reality), a physical product (toy, leash, bed, etc.), or a marketing campaign related to the pet care industry and/or animal welfare. Ideas also needed to align with AutoPets' mission of developing highly functional, connected pet products that make pet care more enjoyable. The Grand Prize winner was awarded a $1,250 scholarship, and the Second and Third Runners-up received $500 and $250 scholarships, respectively.
The 2019 Grand Prize winner is Claire R. for the Paws Path App, an app that would locate and rate the best walking routes for dogs based on their, and their owner's, needs. The Second Runner-up is Denay G. for the Companion Care App, an app that would provide consumers with an easy and fun way to determine what animal would best fit their home and the product needs required to care for their new family member. The Third Runner-up is Chase C. for Cat&Mouse Pad, a smart, customizable structure that would offer obstacles for a toy mouse to maneuver and hide around.
Each submission described the inspiration and thought process behind the concept, why pet parents would need it, what makes the product unique, who the target market is, what the marketing and retail strategies would be, and anything else that would help sell the idea. Drawings or graphics to help illustrate the idea were welcome, but not required.
AutoPets will announce the next Out-of-the-Box Thinking Scholarship in spring 2020.
