GREENVILLE, S.C., April 27, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Avallano (formerly GoBeep), developers of a groundbreaking platform-as-a-service offering designed to give individuals complete control over their personal health information, today announced the appointment of Gavin Nichols to their Board of Advisors.
A technology leader with decades of global leadership experience across the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, Nichols' appointment to the Board will bring extensive knowledge in clinical trial management technology to support and accelerate Avallano's entry into the life sciences market.
"Gavin has a powerful combination of operational and technical expertise in delivering innovative ways to bring new therapies to market faster," said Avallano founder Paul Della Maggiora. "His understanding of what patients, researchers, and providers need to be successful is an invaluable asset in helping us communicate how control of personal data translates into better outcomes for patients and into faster, cheaper innovations to treat and cure disease."
Nichols has led Calyx as CEO since its separation from Parexel, where he served as the Executive Vice President of Informatics and Information Technology. Prior to joining Parexel, Nichols held various global leadership roles in technology, leading strategic and innovative transformations in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. Most notably, his experience includes 11 years with Quintiles (now IQVIA), where he served as Vice President, Data/Analytics/Innovation IT and was instrumental in the creation of its Infosario technology suite.
"Avallano changes the game for life science applications," said Nichols. "Their platform for giving individuals secure control of their personal data ensures current and future regulatory compliance, and uniquely maintains double-blind conditions for patient interactions."
The Avallano solution is currently in use by the Life Aid Research Institute as part of a whole-health approach that combines technology, functional medicine, and community activation to reduce suicide rates among the military, veterans, and first responders.
"Avallano's work with the Life Aid Research Institute LifeScore application to help soldiers and veterans understand their health, improve their health, and support their peers' health has shown how creating a trusted platform for sharing can have real impact on a personal level," Nichols said. "Powering life sciences applications with this combination of anonymity, accountability, and actionable insights will establish an environment to increase diversity and inclusion for trials and open up new frontiers to enrich the lives of patients."
