Award follows another year of rapid national growth fueled by expanded pharmacy infrastructure, strategic acquisitions, new market entry, broader patient access, and continued investment in specialized clinical and patient-support programs
GREENSBORO, N.C., Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- AvevoRx, a national, independent provider of specialty infusion pharmacy services, today announced it was ranked No. 2 overall in the 2026 Triad Business Journal Fast 50 Awards, marking the company's third consecutive appearance among the fastest-growing privately held companies in North Carolina's Triad region.
The recognition follows AvevoRx's No. 2 ranking in 2024 and No. 3 ranking in 2025 and comes on the heels of another period of significant expansion for the Greensboro-headquartered company. Since its founding in 2021, AvevoRx has rapidly scaled its national specialty infusion pharmacy platform through investments in pharmacy infrastructure, geographic expansion, clinical expertise, payer relationships, and patient-focused programs.
"Being recognized among the Triad's fastest-growing companies for a third consecutive year is especially meaningful because Greensboro is our home. This is where AvevoRx's story began," said Lauren Pumphrey, co-founder of AvevoRx. "Our growth has been significant, but what matters most is what that growth allows us to do: reach more patients, expand access to important therapies and continue investing in the people, infrastructure and clinical capabilities that support a truly personalized model of care."
AvevoRx now serves approximately 97 percent of the U.S. population. In August, the company was ranked No. 401 overall on the 2026 Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing private companies. AvevoRx also ranked No. 48 nationally in the Healthcare & Medical category, No. 7 among North Carolina companies and No. 1 in the Greensboro-High Point metropolitan area. The Inc. recognition marked the company's third consecutive appearance on the national list.
The Triad Fast 50 recognizes 50 of the region's fastest-growing privately held companies. The 2026 honorees were announced in July, with final rankings revealed during the Sept. 17 Fast 50 Awards program at the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts in Greensboro. AvevoRx's Fast 50 recognition caps a year in which the company has continued to expand virtually every dimension of its national platform. Major developments include:
- Expanding pharmacy infrastructure in key growth markets. AvevoRx added advanced clean-room pharmacy operations in Metro Atlanta and Austin, Texas, strengthening dispensing capacity and supporting patients across the Southeast, Texas, and the broader Southwest.
- Establishing a major presence in the Northeast. In June, AvevoRx completed its acquisition of Long Island-based Sunrise Rx, expanding its operational footprint across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and New Hampshire and creating a platform for continued growth throughout the Northeast.
- Broadening access through payer relationships. The company has continued expanding managed-care and pharmacy-benefit relationships as part of a strategy to increase patient access and enter new markets with payer alignment already in place. Its Metro Atlanta expansion announcement noted that new agreements had extended coverage to more than 18 million additional covered lives.
- Investing in specialized patient programs. AvevoRx recently expanded its national Alpha-1 Advocacy Program with enhanced patient education, physician engagement, and advocacy services. The company also launched a national nutrition education and engagement initiative for patients with complex gastrointestinal disorders who rely on home parenteral nutrition.
- Expanding clinical capacity and high-touch care. AvevoRx has continued building its national nursing capabilities to support complex home infusion therapies. Its nursing program saw a 70 percent year-over-year increase in visits in 2025, while the company doubled its nursing staff over two years to more than 200 field clinicians.
Together, these investments have helped AvevoRx evolve from a Greensboro-based startup into a national specialty infusion pharmacy platform, enabling the company to serve more patients, support more providers, and expand access to high-quality specialty therapies while maintaining its emphasis on high-touch, personalized care.
"Our growth strategy has always been about building for the long term," said Robin Johnson, chief financial officer at AvevoRx. "We continue to invest in our people, pharmacy infrastructure, clinical capabilities, and patient experience so we can scale responsibly without losing the personalized approach that differentiates AvevoRx."
Pumphrey added, "Growth gives us the opportunity to serve more patients, but maintaining the quality and personal nature of that care is what defines success for us. We're proud of what our team has accomplished and even more excited about the opportunities ahead."
