Avid collector, Andrew Hawley from Vintage Rock Posters, announces his search for original psychedelic 1967 Jim Morrison and the Doors Washington Hilton Hotel concert posters. Jim Morrison's mother attended the concert but he did not speak to her.
SAN FRANCISCO, April 26, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Avid collector, Andrew Hawley from Vintage Rock Posters, announces his search for original psychedelic 1967 Jim Morrison and the Doors Washington Hilton Hotel concert posters. Jim Morrison's mother attended the concert but he did not speak to her. The concert was held on Thanksgiving weekend, on November 25, 1967, at the International Ballroom at The Washington Hilton Hotel in Washington. According to Hawley, "Dail Beeghly created the poster for the Doors concert. This was one of Beeghly's earliest works. Beeghly's became one of the leading concert poster artists in the 1960s. He created masterpieces for the Jimi Hendrix's Merriweather and Janis Joplin Alexandria Roller Arena shows. Beeghly's Doors poster features bright, garish lettering using DayGlo colors. The Doors Hilton poster is unique because it was printed on both thin construction like paper and thick cardboard."
