When your baby's so soapy and slippery and squirmy and when you're trying to bend over a tub or keep them in place in the sink—frankly, it just takes a lot of the enjoyment out of a moment that should be such a great time.

Founded by four friends who are also fathers, Blooming Bath is the award-winning company continuing to make waves in family kitchen sinks. Inventors of the original Blooming Baby Bath, the plush design consists of a series of flower-like petals that conform to any sink and safely cradle your baby positioned in the middle of the flower. It’s not only a comfortable experience for your little one, but an enjoyable one for parents.
Blooming Bath recently expanded the line with an upgraded model, the Blooming Baby Bath Lotus. It features a new design with wider, contoured-shaped petals. Materials include a crystal minky fabric on the outside and Polyurethane foam on the inside to help it dry faster with no chance of mold or mildew. Blooming Bath doesn’t use materials treated with any harmful chemicals or flame retardants.
"We're really proud to be able to share it with other dads and moms—and everyone else who has a hand in baby bath time,” co-founder Brian Pond said.
Blooming Bath’s cheerful bath time experience turns into an effortless cleanup for parents. They simply wring out the excess water and place in the dryer for 10-15 minutes, or hang dry using the hangtag on the back. The Blooming Baby Lotus is also safe to throw in the washer and dryer using delicate cycles.
While becoming a parent is quite an adjustment for some, it was a transition four friends Eric Devericks, Brian Pond, David Morelock and Tom Morris felt like they were mastering. Although they could all change a diaper with no intimidation or hesitation and soothe a screaming baby without breaking a sweat, what they did find to be a chore and a challenge was bath time.
Agreeing there had to be an alternative to the hard plastic tub or a more convenient way to bathe a baby in the sink, this group of friends decided to embark on Blooming Bath’s business venture to bring their ideal product to market.
"When your baby's so soapy and slippery and squirmy and when you're trying to bend over a tub or keep them in place in the sink—frankly, it just takes a lot of the enjoyment out of a moment that should be such a great time," Morelock said.
As Blooming Bath receives praise from moms and dads, parenting organizations have also taken notice. The company is the winner of the Parent Tested Parent Approved Award, given out by the largest parent-testing community and seal of approval recognized worldwide.
"We all know how hard it is to be good parents," Morris said. "If we can do anything to make other parents' lives easier, that makes us happy."
The Blooming Baby Bath Lotus is recommended for newborns and babies up to six months. Outside of the sink, it becomes a comfy companion for children who are transitioning to the big bathtub as well.
