Awards are always welcome, especially international ones
London, United Kingdom (PRWEB UK) 12 December 2016 -- This caps another great year for the Litigation team, which has been awarded, for the third year in a row, 'England - Litigation Law Firm of the Year' from ACQ Law Awards, and this year Paul Marmor has been awarded 'Litigation Lawyer of the Year in England' by Corporate International Global Awards.
Speaking about Sherrards' international success, Jean-Paul da Costa, Head of the Corporate team, says: “We are putting a great deal of stock on the international aspect of our practice, and receiving this award for our international work is thrilling. Our key international hires this year have really made a difference. French dual-qualified lawyer, Geraldine Fabre, has brought a fabulous French-facing practice to the firm, and Marta Grieve (née Khomyak) joined in the Summer to lead our Russia desk, with a background working for some of Moscow’s leading practices. With Laurel (Xueying) Zhang spearheading some incredible in-roads into China, the world is becoming a much smaller place for our clients, contacts and friends of the firm.”
Paul Marmor, International Services partner and Head of Litigation, adds: “Our international practice is running through all aspects of the firm, touching all parts of the business. We continue to support the World Bank’s ‘Doing Business’ project, where Sherrards is an accredited supplier of litigation intelligence for the World Bank’s global analysis of the ease of doing business. Our membership of the Alliott Group international alliance means that we have access to lawyers, accountants and professionals at a moment’s notice, in just about every commercial centre worth talking about. We have joined the Commonwealth Trade Initiative platform, giving us great access to businesses across the Commonwealth - which has, of course, become that much more relevant in recent times in the UK. We have also been working ever more closely with the UK government’s Department for International Trade, and it was an honour to be featured as a case study in their recent brochure on ‘Selling financial, professional and business services overseas'. On top of that, for the firm to appear on the government’s DIT website is really amazing."
Alasdair McMillin, Managing Partner, also comments: “These awards for our International work and for our Corporate and Litigation teams are really welcome, and well done to Paul on his individual Litigation accolade (he certainly terrifies the living daylights out of me!), but we are not complacent and we continue to strive to do better all the time. Indeed, I am delighted to say that Asha Ngai will be joining us shortly as a partner to head-up our International Residential team, which reinforces our belief in the UK market’s international property scene.”
