FREMONT, Calif., Nov. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Azuga, the leading global provider of connected vehicle and fleet technologies, announced it expects incremental growth in motorists signing up with Azuga for the nation's premiere road usage charging program, OReGO, beginning in 2020. That's because new state regulations take effect January 1, removing the cap of 5,000 total OReGO participants allowed and, for all Oregon vehicle owners, implementing enhanced vehicle registration fees based upon miles-per-gallon ratings.
Under the new regulation, vehicle owners in Oregon will have the option to either pay a higher vehicle registration fee or sign up for the OReGO program and pay smaller, monthly increments of per-mile charges. Azuga, the vendor selected by 70% of existing program participants, encourages Oregon drivers to sign up for OReGO online at Azuga.com/programs/OReGO before heading to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Enhanced registration fees will be waived by DMV for OReGO participants, which could save some motorists money if they are enrolled before they register.
In addition to automatic road charging and gas tax credit calculation, Azuga's tech solution, Azuga Insight, offers a variety of premium features to motorists who enroll into OReGO such as diagnostic trouble code alerts, visual trip logs, and driver scores. And, for motorists in Portland- and Medford-metro areas where periodic vehicle emissions testing is required, Azuga provides a free remote emissions testing service exclusively to OReGO participants. The Azuga Insight Connected Vehicle Platform provides drivers with an array of vehicle-related services designed to connect them to their vehicles and make vehicle ownership and driving easier.
